I just remembered the Matador VHS compilation Everything is Nice

I purchased this VHS compilation when a fantastic video store went out of business in the early oughts. All of the videos are worth a watch, and they range from the timeless (Yo La Tengo’s classic video for Sugarcube, featuring Bob and David from Mr. Show) to the super dated (pretty much every other video) and from hilarious (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Yo La Tengo, and Chavez) to the overly self aware and serious (Cat Power, Helium, and, strangely, Chavez.) Nice trip down memory lane. I’m on a real nineties kick for some reason.

“Number 1: arena; number nothing: indie rock club”
